Women Affairs Commissioner Calls for Clarity in MDAs’ mandates to enhance efficiency.

Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children, and Disabled, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani HOD, has expressed concerns over Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) taking on mandates that do not belong to them. She emphasized the need for all MDAs to understand their defined responsibilities to avoid clashes and promote efficiency and productivity,this was contained in a statement by the Spokesperson of the Ministry,Bintu Nuhu Yahaya and sent to thetentaclesnews.com.ng

According to the commissioner, defining roles would lead to improved service delivery, reduced conflicts, enhanced accountability, and better allocation of resources. She stressed that when MDAs operate within their mandates, it would foster a culture of transparency, trust, and cooperation, ultimately benefiting the citizens.

The Commissioner made the call during an advocacy visit by Center for Clinical Care and Clinical Research in Nigeria(CCCRN), who were introducing a new Orphans and Vulnerable Children(OVC) Project to the ministry.

The team of the visitors comprises; Dr. Kabiru Usman, Dr. Faith Lannap, and Dr. Ayodotun Olutola from CCCRN who were in the office to introduce the Project to the ministry. The project aims to support victims of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), HIV, and promote exclusive breastfeeding.

The Commissioner urged the CCCRN to involve the ministry in all aspects that concern their mandate.
