The Federal Polytechnic Daura has organized a one-day induction training workshop for academic staff on the National Research Fund (NRF) which is a special intervention initiative of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) designed to provide financial support for cutting-edge research projects in Nigerian tertiary institutions by the Federal Government.
The Fund focuses on promoting innovation, knowledge creation and solutions to national developmental challenges through quality research proposals.
The opening ceremony, was held at the School of Vocational Education, Skills and Professional Development Multi-purpose Hall, Zango Road. where the Registrar, Suleiman Sa’ad Gwarzo, welcomed the resource persons high table dignitaries and participants to the workshop. He urged the academic staff to used the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and contribute to the advancement of academic excellence within the institution.
He further assured the academics staff of the maximum support of the Polytechnic management especially in terms of Research, Journals publications,and any other interventions to the Polytechnic community.
In his remarks, the Chief Host Dr. Musa Gambo K.K., the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Daura, dwelt on the importance of the event to the advancement of the Polytechnic and congratulated the participants for having an erudite echelon and rare gem in a academic environment especially in research proposal development, Dr. Suleiman Zangina who delivered a well articulated papeers during the technical session.
He charged the participants to study the NRF curriculum thoroughly, stressing on the need to enhance the Polytechnic chances of securing the National Research Fund Award of 2025 in line with the institution vision of academic excellence, research innovation and Fabrication of equipments and technology tools which will compete favourably in this era of the 21st century for self sufficiently and self sustenance.
The workshop was conducted successfully, underscoring impactful knowledge and generating meaningful ideas that will play a key roles in shaping the research development of the Academic Personnel and beyond.
