The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) has intensified its digital transformation agenda with the training of 40 health facilities In-Charges and desk officers drawn from three (3) Local Government Areas of the state.
The training, focused on digital code request and claims processing—a key part of KSCHMA’s strategy to improve efficiency, accountability, and timely reimbursement in the state’s contributory healthcare system as contained in a Press Release signed and delivered to thetentaclesnews.com.ng by the Spokesperson of the Agency Aminu Ahmad Turaki
Representing the Executive Secretary, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar, the Deputy Director, Programs, Dr. Musbahu Maimashi emphasized on the importance of building ICT capacity at the grassroots level.
“This training is a critical and vital step forwards in ensuring that our contributory health scheme operates with efficiency and transparency.
By empowering In-Charges and Desk Officers with ICT tools, we are strengthening claims management and service delivery across communities,” Dr. Maimashi stated.
The program was facilitated by KSCHMA’s ICT and Programs Department, which guided participants through practical, hands-on sessions on:
-Generating and applying digital service codes;
-Submitting and tracking claims in real time;
-Ensuring accuracy and integrity of healthcare data and
-Troubleshooting system errors while safeguarding patient information.
When interviewed after the training some Participants commended KSCHMA for the initiative, pledging to apply the knowledge acquired judiciously in their facilities.
With this latest exercise, KSCHMA has now trained over 400 health workers from more than 200 facilities across Kano State, with additional batches planned in phases to cover more Local Government Areas.
The training reaffirms KSCHMA’s commitments towards building a modern, technology-driven contributory healthcare system that delivers efficient, transparent, and people-centered services to all residents of Kano State, especially the poor and vulnerable.
