On its drives to ensure more decent environment in the State in accordance with Islamic principles, norms and Values Kano State Hisbah Comman has apprehended four women and seven men suspected to be involved in immoral activities during a raid on a house located at Hotoro Walawai in Nassarawa Local Government Area of the State
The operation followed complaints from residents of the area who reported series immoral activities within the vicinity of the house in a statement signed and sent to thetentaclesnews.com.ng by the Director Public Enlightenment of the Command Auwalu Ado Sheshe.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that the property being used belonged to an heir who had rented it out through an agent.
When interrogating the suspects, they admitted to committing the offence, pleading for forgiveness, describing their actions as a devil’s temptation. Where they vowed never to repeat such acts if pardoned.
In accordance with a statement from one of the suspects revealed that each encounter in an immoral acts cost ₦3,000 — out of which ₦1,000 was paid to the “Magajiya” (the woman in charge) as a room fee.
The most disheartening thing according to Hisbah officials, is the age disparity among those arrested — the young men were mostly under 25 years old, with one as young as 18, while the women were all above 40 and most of them hailed from Borno and Adamawa States.
The Hisbah Board reiterated its unwavering commitments to fighting indecency and immorality in Kano State. The Board also called on parents to closely monitor their children’s behavior and associations.
In addition the HISBAH Board strongly warned the landlords to thoroughly investigate and scrutinize potential tenants and as well relates with District, Village,Ward Heads before renting out any House to anybody and to keep track records of the tennets to prevent immoral activities and ensure full security of the State.
The Board appealed to the general public to report any suspicious or any immoral activities that contradict the values of Islamic religion and culture to the Board for appropriate actions.
