The Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has inspected the ongoing renovations at Government Technical College Dambatta 1, in a company of his Deputy Governor Comrade Abdussalam Gwarzo, and members of Executive Council, Sunday where the former commissioner for education and who is now commissioner for Water Resources, Umar Haruna Doguwa, informed the entourage how this current government met the GTC Dambatta and what was done immediately after the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf begun schools rehabilitation.
The situation he said was worst as students shared a class room and hostel due poor infrastructure and no fence, exposing the students to dangers and insecurity.
This was contained in a press statement issued by Mustapha Muhammad,Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State, stating that some quick interventions ware made to renovate the school which includes building a fence.
The commissioner for Education Ali Haruna Makoda, revealed that the school (GTC Dambatta) situation and other schools dilapidation across the state signalled how the immediate past administration neglected the sector unattended adding that “All the videos going viral on social media about the schools dilapidation unraveled how the past administration that spend 8 years neglected the sector,” Haruna Makoda emphasized.
He further stressed that, ” but now the governor is working tirelessly addressing the situation across the 44 Local Government of the state the situation is being addressed gradually.
In his remarks the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, said the government is aggressively addressing the infrastructural deficit inherited from the immediate past administration.” All these dilapidations in our schools suggest that the past government for 8 years had done nothing to write home about.”The governor is passionate about education and is doing well in that drive, making a significant progress in just two years.
