Basic Healthcare for All Programs Inaugurated by Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State

Babura Local Government Council, has inaugurated the Jigawa Basic Healthcare Program under the Jigawa Health Equity Fund (J-HEF) initiative.

Speaking during the inauguration, the Council Chairman Hamisu Muhammad Garu said the formation of the committee was aimed at ensuring effective Health Care Services delivery and for full implementation of the J-HEF program in the local government in a statement issued by the Information Officer of the Area Suleman Daudu Babura to thetentaclesnews.com.ng

The Chairman described the initiative as part of the humanitarian efforts of Governor Umar Namadi which aligned with his vision of inclusive healthcare coverage, especially for the vulnerable groups in the society.

Garu further disclosed that about One thousand new enrollees from different Wards of the Council, would benefit from the Program in addition to the existing five hundred beneficiaries already covered under the program.

The Chairman listed the categories of beneficiaries which includes:-

Children under 5 years

People with Disabilities (PWDs)

Pregnant women

Elderly persons (65 years and above)

Orphans

People with Sickle Cell Disease

And People Living with HIV (PLHIV)

The Committee Chairman remains the Council Chairman with members including the Director of Administration and General Services of the Local Government, Primary Healthcare Manager, District Head, Chief Imam,others are: representatives of Security Agencies, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and the Women Development Officer, among others.
