Bauchi Governor Flags Off 2025 Wet Season Subsidised Fertilizer Distribution

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has officially launched the distribution of subsidised fertilizer for the 2025 wet farming season, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to boosting food production and supporting local farmers.

The launch event, held in Bauchi, saw the governor underscore the importance of agriculture to the state’s economy, noting that the initiative aims to enhance productivity and ensure food security across the state.

Governor Mohammed stated that the government had procured large quantities of fertilizer to be sold to farmers at a highly subsidised rate, making it affordable and accessible to even smallholder farmers. He urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the input and avoid diversion or resale.

He also reiterated his administration’s continuous support for the agricultural sector through the provision of improved seedlings, extension services, and modern farming tools.

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Professor Simon Yalams, commended the governor for his unwavering support, noting that the fertilizer distribution would positively impact thousands of farmers across the 20 local government areas of the state.

Traditional leaders, farmers’ associations, and other stakeholders attended the event and expressed appreciation for the government’s timely intervention.
