The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, congratulated the one thousand and twenty (1,020) newly promoted officers of Kano State Police Command, acknowledging their exceptional service and commitment to maintaining law and order in the State.
The decoration event which took place on yesterday Monday at Bompai Kano, was attended by dignitaries, community leaders, and family members of the beneficiaries.
The officers are among those recently promoted by the Police Service Commission on the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police. The promotees included:i. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operation, Umar Ahmed Chuso who was earlier decorated by the IGP with the rank of Commissioner of Police (CP). Area Commander of Wudil Area Command, Fudaiku Sani Kura, decorated with the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). While Others in the senior cadre are: Celestine Chika Ugwuddoh; Officer in Charge of CP’s Surveillance Team, Mansur A. Idris; DPO Filin Hockey Division, Mohammed Gwarzo Mani; DPO Minjibir Division, and Musa Hadi; DPO Ja’oji Division, decorated with the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and One hundred and nineteen (119) Inspectors were decorated with the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II). And at the same time Four hundred and ninety (490) Sergeants were decorated to the the rank of Inspector, Four hundred (400) corporals were decorated to the rank of Sergeant, and Five (5) Police Constables were decorated to the rank of Corporal.
In his remark, the Commissioner of Police stated that “We are here to rejoice with our colleagues for the attainment of their promotion to the next ranks. This is part of the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on improving the welfare of members of the Force.
Since he assumed duty, there has been no stagnation in ranks. Therefore, we must thank the IGP and the Force Management for their diligent leadership.” He also extended heartfelt congratulations to all the decorated officers and expressed gratitude to their families for the support that enabled them to serve the community with honour and courage.
The CP further stressed that the decoration ceremony is not just a recognition of their achievements but also a reminder of the responsibilities that come with these new ranks. He, therefore, charged them to continue to work diligently and effectively to reciprocate this kind gesture.
In his vote of thanks, the newly decorated senior officer, DCP Fudaiku Sani Kura stated in parts, thus: “On behalf of the newly promoted officers of the Kano State Police Command, I wish to expressed our heartfelt gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, Police Service Commission, and Commissioner of Police for their efforts and support in the promotion process.
We acknowledged the leadership and vision of the IGP, the diligence and fairness of the PSC, and the unwavering support and recommendations of the CP”.5. “We also appreciate the support of our families, friends, and colleagues, and pledge to serve with dedication, integrity, and professionalism in our new roles.
As we assume our new roles, we vow to uphold the values of the Nigeria Police Force and contribute to the safety and security of communities, justifying the trust and confidence reposed in us by the promoters and the public.
Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police lectured the supervising officers of the Command, including the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Sectional Heads, and Operational and Tactical Commanders. During the lecture, the CP commended the officers for their sacrifices and commitment to the safety and security of the citizens of Kano State.
He further emphasized the importance of professionalism, integrity, and adherence to the vision of the Inspector-General of Police to provide Police services that are transparent and rule of law compliant. He cautioned on the need to observe strictly the social media policy of the Force on sharing any information therein.
