CATTLE RUSTLING, COUNTERFEIT DOLLAR DEALS, THEFT, POLICE IN JIGAWA BURSTS CRIMINAL SYNDICATE

In a sustained effort to keep Jigawa State safe and crime-free, the Jigawa State Police Command has recorded remarkable breakthroughs in various criminal cases across the State. Which Comprises the details are as follows:-

CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, HOUSE TRESPASS, AND THEFT:
On 30th September 2025, following suspects—one Nuhu Ado, alias Osingwei ‘m’ age 22yrs, along with his accomplices Ayuba ‘m’ and Yayan ‘m’, now at large, all of Karkasara Quarters, Gumel LGA—criminally conspired and trespassed into the residence of one individual of the same address and stole his Skyrun refrigerator valued at three hundred and fifty thousand naira (₦350,000.00).

During the investigation, the stolen item was recovered, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the other fleeing suspects. Suspects have been charged in court for prosecution.

CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, CRIMINAL TRESPASS, AND THEFT OF DOMESTIC ANIMAL: On 1st October 2025, unknown miscreants trespassed into the house of one person at Majiyawar Shehu, Ringim LGA, and stole his cow.

In a swift response tip-off, one Amadu Audu ‘m’ age 20yrs of Majiyawar Kirdau, Ringim LGA, was found in possession of the stolen cow.

Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and mentioned his accomplices as;- Isa Zubairu, alias Gwada ‘m’ age 28yrs of Gunduwawa, Gezawa LGA, Kano State, and Inusa Bello ‘m’ age 25yrs of Gidan Maje Settlement; both were arrested.

The case is still under investigation and will be charged to court upon completion.

BEING IN POSSESSION OF COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY (USD): Acting on credible intelligence, on 5th October 2025, operatives attached to Gidan Lage Outstation under Ringim Division arrested one Lawan Isa ‘m’ age 33yrs of Dorayi Karama, Kano State, at Gidan Lage Market in possession of fifty-six (56) pieces of 100-USDo notes and one (1) piece of 1-USD note, suspected to be counterfeit.
Also, four (4) Android phones and one keypad handset were recovered from him.

Upon investigation, the suspect could not give any satisfactory explanation regarding the fake currencies in his possession.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Dutse, for meticulous investigation.

In recognition of these developmental breakthrough the Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, commended the diligence and professionalism of officers involved in these successful operations.

While urging members of the public to remain law-abiding and vigilant and to continue providing credible information to the police and other security agencies to help in the ongoing fight against crime across the State.
