On his continued commitments towards serving the people of Kumbotso Local Government Area, which is in tandem with the vision and policies of the Kwankwasiyya movement under Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Executive Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government, Comrade Abdullahi Ghali Shitu Basaf, has once again brought joy and relief to the people of the area through a mighty and remarkable empowerment and appointment program.
During the event, the Chairman presented official letters of appointment to dedicated grassroots supporters who were appointed as Special Advisers and Senior Assistants.
In addition, he disbursed ₦50,000 each to 200 men and women across the local government to support small-scale businesses and improve their livelihoods.
Furthermore, twenty electricity-generating machines were distributed to beneficiaries from various wards, ensuring that each ward benefited from the initiative in a statement issued by Alawiyya Wada Isah, Information Officer of the Area which was made available to thetentaclesnews.com.ng
This gesture marks a land marks development which calls for widespread attention and commendations.
The District Head of Kumbotso, Barden Kano, Alhaji Abdullahi Lamido Sunusi, graced the occasion where he blessed and applauded the foresight and dedication of the Chairman for this unwavering efforts towards uplifting the people of the Area.
Similarly, the Kano State NNPP Chairman, Dr. Dungurawa, xpressed gratitude stating that when he first heard of the massive empowerment program, he assumed it was organized by the State Government.
He was, however, pleasantly surprised to learn that it was initiated and executed by the Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government — a clear demonstration of good leadership at the grassroots level.
On his part, the Provost of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Dr. Kabiru Ahmed Gwarzo, stated that he could not afford to miss such a noble event. He announced free admission opportunities for indigenes of Kumbotso into the college, aimed at improving access to quality education.
While making his remarks, Comrade Abdullahi Ghali Shitu Basaf assured the youth that this empowerment program was only the beginning, encouraging them to remain patient, resilient, and hardworking —which he said are the true keys to success.
He also highlighted some of the major developmental projects already executed across the local government since his assumption of office.
In a symbolic conclusion to the event, Comrade Basaf officially received 1,000 defectors from the opposition APC who decamped to the NNPP, further affirming the growing popularity and acceptance of the party in Kumbotso.
The event was attended by prominent dignitaries, political leaders, and other key stakeholders from both the state and the local government.
