The Association of Hajj Media Support Professionals (AHMSP) in Press Statement issued to Media organizations has called on the practicing Journalists and Media outlets to stick to the cannons of the profession in their daily engagements for the betterment of the Society.
The hint was drop by the Chairman of the Association of Hajj Media Support Professionals citing instances of a media content of 14 th October this year by one of the media outlet concerning the Chairman of the apex Hajj regulatory body Professor Abdullahi Sale Pakistan, where the support group reminded the pen professional of their exalted roles in shaping and moulding the behavioral and attitudinal perspectives of the members of Society.
The Statement revealed that after series of reviews of the report by the media outlet in question it contains unverified claims and misrepresentations which do not reflect the full context of NAHCON operations or the actions of its Chairman
Sticking to the fact that Professor Sale Pakistan is adhering to the statutory mandate of the Commission by ensuring due administration and operational decisions in line with normal administrative routine which includes Staff deployment among others.
The Support Professionals noted that expressed by members of Society on social media handles should not be attributed directly to NAHCON management without formal confirmation from the Commission.
The Statement further backed the Chairman that he has not authorized or directed any public commentary aimed at public officials or reports suggesting otherwise are misleading, pointing out that upon Professor Pakistan has fully cooperated with any of the enquires by relevant anti graft agencies where he provided the supporting information and documentation in accordance with legal and procedural requirements, concluding that currently there are no formal charges against him.
The Support Professionals appealed to general publics,Civil Societies,and Media to always strive hard and verify information when forming an opinion not only on NAHCON but on any other entities be it public or private with sole aim of understanding and advancing, adding that it has become highly imperative for media houses Civil Societies and public to exercise caution and dig down t distinguished between verified facts and speculative or politically motivated reporting.
