Fairness and Transparency on the Distribution of Inheritance of the accident victims must be fully adhered to…AG,Kano State

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kano State, Barrister Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude, SAN, together with the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary, attended a court session at the Upper Sharia Court, Kofar Kudu, presided over by Sharia Judge, Malam Ibrahim Sarki Yola.

The court was administering the distribution of inheritance belonging to 22 victims who lost their lives in a tragic road accident that occurred in May while returning from the National Festival held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

In line with his commitment to fairness and transparency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, directed that the distribution process be conducted through the Sharia Court to ensure justice and equal treatment for all affected familiesof the tragic accident victims in a Press Statement by the Spokesperson of the Ministry Najib Lawan Dambazau to thetentaclesnews.com.ng

The Attorney General attended the session to personally observe and affirm the government’s dedication to fairness and lawful procedures.

“His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has once again demonstrated his firm belief that justice must be transparent, credible, and guided by the rule of law. By allowing this process to go through the Sharia Court, the government has shown genuine respect for fairness and accountability,” Maude, SAN, stated.

He further commended the Governor for his steadfast leadership and praised Malam Ibrahim Sarki Yola for handling the case with professionalism, compassion, and integrity.

“I also use singular opportunity to commend His Excellency for his continuous support to the judiciary and his trust in the Sharia system. I likewise appreciated Sharia Judge Ibrahim Sarki Yola for conducting this exercise with empathy and diligence.

This is the true spirit of justice that our administration promotes,” the Attorney General added.

In his remarks, Sharia court judge, Ibrahim Sarki Yola expressed gratitude to the state government for the confidence reposed in him and assured that the process would be concluded within the day.

He also prayed for the continued success of the Attorney General and commended his reform efforts aimed at strengthening the Sharia justice system in the state.

“Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has chosen the right person to handle the affairs of justice in the state in the person of Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude, SAN.

His humility, dedication, and sincerity are helping restore confidence in the justice system,” Khadi Yola remarked.
