The Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government, Alhaji Anas Mukhtar Bello Danmaliki, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment towards prioritizing the development and promotion of Girls’ Education within the local government area.

He made this known while delivering a speech during Speech and Price given day ceremony held at the Girls’ Arabic Secondary School, Dawakin Tofa.

According to the Chairman, Educating Girls remains a crucial factor for the progress of society and the well-being of families. He further emphasized that his administration will continue to initiate and support programs aimed at improving access to quality education for young girls.

Alhaji Anas Mukhtar Bello Danmaliki, who delivered comprehensive speech on the importance of Educating the Girl child, stating that “when you educate a Girl child, it is as if you have educated the entire community.”

Represented by the Councilor in charge of community and Social Welfare, Department,Mallam Sulaiman Ibrahim, the Chairman further stressed that chairman it was for this reason that the local government sponsored the education of over 800 male and female students in to Higher Institutions both within and outside the state, in addition to numerous Primary and Secondary Schools in the area were renovated.

In her welcome address, the Principal of the School, Hajiya Rakiya Salisu, expressed appreciation for the chairman’s contributions towards the school’s renovation and the overall development of education in the area. She also thanked members of the community who have been supporting the school.

In a goodwill message, the Director-General of Media to the Kano State Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, represented by Professor Kamilu Ibrahim, stated:“Education is the salt of life in this world and the hereafter. I urge students to remain determined and passionate in their pursuit of knowledge so that the future leaders will be well-grounded in education.”Representing the Federal House of Representatives member for Dawakin Tofa, Tofa, and Rimin Gado Constituency, Abdulkadir Jobe, represented by Professor Kamilu Ibrahim noted that, in order to boost education, the legislator constructed six classrooms for the school and furnished them with desks and chairs.

He also donated ₦5,000 each to students who received awards.

In his remarks, the District Head of Dawakin Tofa, Madakin Kano Alhaji Yusif Ibrahim Chigari, represented by village Head Dawaki,Muhammad Ubale, commended the School Authorities for their efforts in providing both education and moral upbringing of the students, urging them to sustain such initiatives.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries including Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad (Speaker), Professor Bala Sale, Professor Nura Ayagi, Professor Mamuna Ibrahim, and Alhaji Abba Bashir Yola.

During the ceremony, special recognition was given to Ummul Khairi Ahmad, a student with special needs who writes using her toes due to the absence of hands for her determination to pursue education. Similarly, Zuwairiyya Nura Idris, was awarded as the best student in Western education, and Hajara Isah, who won the Arabic studies award, both expressed their happiness over their achievements.
