Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the immediate dissolution of the Board of the Kano State Consumer Protection Council.
This follows a leadership crisis that rock the Council despite series of interventions at restoring peace but to no avail,which prompted the Governor to take this decision in a statement issued by the Press Secretary in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government,Musa Tanko Muhammad and sent to thetentaclesnews.com.ng
Going by this development,the Chairman, Executive Secretary, and all members of the Board, including Ex-Officio members, are hereby relieved of their appointments with immediate effect.
While conveying the Governor’s decision, the Secretary to the State Government , Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, directed all affected officials to hand over the activities of their respective offices, alongside all government properties in their possession to the most senior officer of the Council not later than the close of official hours on Monday, 27th October, 2025.
The SSG further stated that all handover documents are to be submitted to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government — Research, Evaluation and Political Affairs Directorate and to the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Investment and Commerce.
