The First lady stated that at the event of Hand washing which was aimed to promote personal hygiene and create awareness as well as encourage people to adopt proper handwashing practices in a statement issued by the Information Officer in charge of Gwuiwa and Yankwashi Local government Councils Ja’afar Ahmed Dauda which was made available to thetentaclesnews.com.ng
Hajiya Sadiya Muhammad Zakari highlighted the importance of hand washing and personal hygiene in preventing diseases and promoting public health especially in areas with limited access to sanitation
Pointing out that wife of the Council Chairman i will do my best to ensure the sustainability of this initiative which was aimed to educate and empower communities particularly vulnerable groups on proper handwashing practices
As the World is celebrating this Hand washing Day which was set aside to commomerate global best Practice in hand washing, we would take the message to all nook and crannies of Gwuiwa local government with a view to change the narrative and attitudinal perspectives of the people on hand washing as panacea to healthy environment.
In their separate remarks Religious Leader Malam Nasir alongside Civil Society Organization representative Malam Surajo Usman called on the community influencers to encourage people to adopt proper hand washing as a daily practice.
