HOW CP BAKORI COUNSELS INDIVIDUAL WHO SURRENDERED TO THE POLICE, URGED HIM TO EMBRACE GOOD CONDUCT
The Kano State Police Command wishes to inform the public of an inspiring development involving a distressed individual who voluntarily surrendered himself to the Command, expressing a desire to repent. The man who initially claimed to be a thug (Dan-Daba), upon investigation, confessed that he was not involved in criminal activities. Instead, he admitted that feelings of depression and desperation stemming from poverty had tempted him to consider engaging in crime.
The Command seized the opportunity and counsel him on the dangers of criminal behaviour and the importance of adopting positive and lawful ways to overcome personal challenges. The CP emphasized that seeking help and support from appropriate channels is a far better alternative to resorting to crime, which ultimately leads to devastating consequences. He urged members of the public to refrain from all forms of discriminatory attitudes towards such repentants.
The Kano State Police Command commends the individual for his courage and willingness to seek guidance, describing this as a critical first step toward rehabilitation and reintegration into society. The Command encourages others facing similar challenges to follow this example by reaching out to relevant authorities, family members, or support networks for assistance.
Similarly the Commissioner extended appreciation to the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Kano State Chapter, led by Dr. (Goni) Faruk Umar for their generous support to the individual.
The ACF provided immediate assistance, including one hundred and fifty thousand naira (₦150,000:00), a bag of rice, and an additional sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira (₦250,000:00) as an interest-free loan to help the individual reactivate his carpentry business.
This act of compassion and social responsibility demonstrates their unwavering commitment to fostering peace, stability, and development in Kano State. Likewise the Commissioner also appreciated other individuals who showed willingness to provide support to the individual.
The Kano State Police Command reassures the public of its dedication to maintaining the safety and security of lives and property. The Command also remains committed to supporting genuine efforts aimed at rehabilitating and reintegrating individuals who are willing to turn away from crime and violence to embrace lawful and productive lives.
