The Kano State Police Command has announced the successful recovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of a suspect in connection with the crime.
This achievement is a result of the Command’s proactive measures and relentless efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of lives and property in the State in a statement issued by the Spokesperson of the Command Abdullahi Haruna KIYAWA to thetentaclesnews.com.ng
On 29th September 2025, a report was received from the owner of a Toyota Hilux vehicle with registration number GWA 998 AR, which had been stolen from Ikeja Road, Fagge LGA, Kano State.
The Police operatives attached to the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) swung into action and, through intelligence-led technical operation along Airport Road, Nassarawa LGA, Kano State, arrested one Adama Hassan, a 35-year-old female suspect of Deba LGA, Gombe State, on 6th October 2025, while attempting to conceal the stolen vehicle en route to neibouring Niger Republic.
The suspect has confessed to receiving the vehicle from a male suspect from Lafiyan Lamurde LGA, Adamawa State, who is currently on the run. The Police are intensifying efforts to apprehend the suspect at and recover more exhibits.
The Kano State Police Command commends the efforts of the officers involved in this operation and appreciates the support of the public in providing valuable information that led to this achievement.
