In a major breakthrough in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking and abuse, operatives from Garki, Fagam, and Maigatari Divisional Police Headquarters have successfully apprehended three (3) notorious drug dealers during coordinated intelligence-led raids across the state.
The operations, which were conducted on 18th October 2025, led to the arrest of the suspects who have long been on the police radar for their involvement in the distribution of illicit substances within Jigawa State and beyond in a statement by the Spokesperson of the Command Shi’isu Lawam Adam sent to thetentaclesnews.com.ng
During the raids, law enforcement officers recovered a staggering twenty-three thousand, nine hundred and forty-four (23,944) assorted illicit drugs.
The following substances were found in their possession which include:-
✓ Exol= 13,505
✓ D5= 1,583
✓ Tramadol= 3,572
✓ Diazepam= 565
✓ Rubber Solution= 2,469
✓ Cannabis (Indian Hemp) block & 886 wraps
✓ Sock and Die
✓ Akurkura
✓ Farin Malam= 340
✓ Other assorted hard drugs and intoxicating substances= 1,042.
The suspects are; Muhammad Garba ‘m’ age 60yrs of Mekiya village, Gabasawa LGA, Kano State, Musa Garba ‘m’ age 55yrs and Hudu Ma’ilu ‘m’ of Guneri village, Malamawa District, Niger republic.
This seizure marks one of the largest anti-drug operations in recent times in the state and underscores the commitment of the Police Command to rid communities of dangerous drugs that continue to destroy lives, especially among the youth.
The suspects are currently in Police custody and are undergoing thorough investigation.
They will be charged to court upon the conclusion of preliminary inquiries.
The Commissioner of Police commended the gallant efforts of the officers involved and reiterated the Command’s zero-tolerance stance against drug-related crimes.
He also urged members of the public to continue supporting law enforcement by providing timely and credible information that will aid in the identification and apprehension of criminal elements.
