On 18/08/2025, ‘B’ Division Hadejia received a report that some unpatriotic individuals were vandalizing an electric transformer at Matsaro Quarters, Hadejia Local Government Area. Upon reception of the report, a patrol team swiftly responded to the scene of the crime for an on-the-spot assessment and possible arrest of the perpetrators. Following suspects were apprehended:Haruna Musa age 36yrs, Hussaini Innocent age 23yrs, Abubakar Yakubu age 27yrs, Zakariyya Mohammed age 20yrs,Mamman Danladi age 27yrs, Khalifa Yahaya age, 18yrs,.Ibrahim Mohammed age 20yrs, Ali Ibrahim age 20yrs all from various addresses in Bauchi, Kano, and Jigawa states as revealed by the Spokesperson of the Command Shi’isu Lawan Adam and delivered to thetentaclesnews.com.ng
Upon investigation, the suspects confessed to conspiring among themselves on different occasions and vandalized fifteen (15) electric transformers in various locations within Hadejia emirate,which includes Auyaka village, Gandun Sarki quarters, Shagari quarters, Jama’are quarters, Agumu quarters, Gawon Dogari quarters, Old Motor Park, and Matsaro quarters, all in Hadejia LGA, as well as Jabo village in K/Hausa LGA and Yamide village in Auyo LGA.
The suspects further revealed that they had sold the vandalized transformer to Idris Nuhu age 35yrs and Abdullahi Idris age 22yrs both of Makara Huta Quarters, Hadejia LGA, for three hundred and eighty thousand naira (₦380,000.00), who were also arrested.Additionally, they confessed to delivering the transformer to one individual in Kano State and selling it for six hundred and eighty thousand naira (₦680,000.00k).
Efforts are being intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspects and receivers. The case has been charged to court for prosecution.
CABLE WIRE VANDALISM
On 02/09/2025, a distress call was received at Bamaina Division reporting that, on the same date at about one Sani Sa’idu age 25yrs of Bamaina town, B/Kudu LGA, had invited and conspired with his friend, one Isah Isyaku age 25yrs of Hadejia Road, Kano State, and trespass into the residence of one individual and vandalize armored cable wire valued at seven million naira (₦7,000,000.00).Upon receiving the report, detectives promptly responded and arrested the suspects.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to have vandalized the said cable wire and transporting it to a classroom at Junior Secondary School Bamaina, where it was burned. The suspect further confessed to trespassing into the house of Yusuf Ibrahim a staff member of Jigawa State Academy of Gifted Bamaina, and stole a laptop computer valued at four hundred and eighty thousand naira (₦480,000.00k), a Vivo handset valued at fifty-seven thousand naira (₦57,000.00k), and a sum of twenty thousand naira (₦20,000.00k) in cash. Exhibits have been recovered, and the suspect mentioned one individual from Kano State as the receiver. The case is currently under investigation.
The Commissioner of Police for Jigawa State, CP Dahiru Muhammad, reaffirmed that there is no place for criminals to hide in the state and that anyone found wanting will be arrested, investigated, and prosecuted accordingly. The CP therefore urged the good citizens to promptly report vandalism in their communities so that swift action would be taken.
