As part of its continued effort to promote self-reliance, gender inclusion and women Empowerments through skill acquisition, the Kano State Agency for Mass Education visited and distributed vocational tools to Jigirya Women Centre in Nassarawa local government of Kano State in a statement issued by the Spokesperson of the Agency Fauziyya Habib. mahmud and sent to thetentaclesnews.com.ng
The Centre was well known for its high student enrollment and commendable use of vocational skills on different Skills for over a long period of time.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary, Dr. Binta Abubakar,welcomed attendees and commended the commitment of the students. She praised the Executive Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on his giant stride in making Education and skills acquisitions accessible to the people of the State, describing him as a visionary governor who is deeply committed to the advancement of the State.
“We are blessed with a leader who wants every citizen to be educated and self-reliant. That’s why His Excellency directed me to ensure that every dropout has a second chance to continue their education,” Dr. Binta stated.
She also announced the upcoming launch of special classes for district heads, vigilante members, and youth who were unable to complete their education, adding that certificates will be issued upon completion.
In his remarks, the Director of the Centre, Malam Sabo Suleiman, expressed appreciation to the state government and to Dr. Binta Abubakar for their tireless support.
He appealed for the deployment of more teachers to the centre due to the growing number of students.
