Justice sector reform our top priority, Dederi Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Haruna Isa Dederi, has reaffirmed the State Government’s unwavering commitments to strengthening the Justice Sector.

Speaking during a general meeting with staff of the Ministry held at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, the Commissioner announced the establishment of a committee tasked with reviewing, examining modalities, prospect, challenges and recommending practical solutions for improving justice delivery and administration in the State.

Barr. Dederi explained that the committee’s work would serve as a framework for reforms designed to ensure greater access, efficiency, and fairness within the justice system.“The government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, remains fully committed to justice sector reforms.as Justice the remain the foundation of peace, order, and good governance.

Dederi, further expressed gratitude to the State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his total support and commitment to the Sector citing instances of Governor’s approval on the recently employed State Counsel to further ensure justice reforms in Kano State

“This administration will continue to provide the necessary support and resources for effective service delivery,” he stated.The Commissioner urged staff of the Ministry to cooperate with the committee, chaired by Abdullah Ibrahim Muhammad, alongside seven counsel members, who will contribute ideas on how best to uphold professionalism and integrity in the justice sector.He further emphasized that the collective goal of the Ministry is to protect rights, restore hope, and guarantee fairness for all citizens.

The meeting, which recorded an impressive turn out from staff, and which is the first of its kind came two years after Barr. Dederi’s assumption of office. It marked a new phase in the efforts of the Office of the Attorney General to drive substantial reforms and improvements in the administration of justice across the state.

The attendees expressed delight with the meeting and assured the Commissioner that they will do their best in justice administration in accordance with ethical consideration of the profession.
