The Kano State Civil Service Commission has demonstrated its commitment to the growth, discipline, and efficiency of the state workforce during deliberations at its monthly sitting where Staff in the mainstream civil service were promoted based on the laid down procedures.
During the sitting on Wednesday 24th September, 2025, the Commission deliberated extensively on various cases brought before it and took decisions that reflect its mandate of safeguarding the integrity and smooth functioning of the state civil service in a Press Released issued by the Director Public Enlightenment of the Commission Musbahu Aminu Yakasai and made available to thetentaclesnews.com.ng
A total of 58 personnel were promoted.
These promotions cut across several Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), lifting deserving officers to higher ranks in recognition of their dedication, hard work, and service.
The Commission also considered 18 cases of conversion and change of cadre, the process which allows officers with relevant qualifications and skills to be reassigned into positions more aligned with their expertise.
By doing so, the Commission seeks to ensure the best use of available human resources, while also granting officers fair opportunities to maximize their career potential.
In addition, 57 cases of transfer of service and one disciplinary cases were treated during the sitting.
The cases ware carefully reviewed in line with established civil service rules, and appropriate action was taken.
Speaking after the session, the Chairperson of the Kano State Civil Service Commission, Hajiya Ladidi Ibrahim Garko reaffirmed that the Commission remains guided by fairness, transparency, and meritocracy in all its decisions. She explained that the monthly sittings are designed to ensure timely attention to the career progression of civil servants and to prevent stagnation in the service.
She further called on officers affected by the Commission’s decisions to see their promotions, conversions, or transfers as an opportunity for greater responsibility.
She also reminded them that the government and the people of Kano State expect nothing less than renewed dedication, efficiency, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
The Chairperson underscored the Commission’s dual role of rewarding excellence and enforcing discipline, stressing that a strong civil service must rest on both pillars. She reassured that the Commission will continue to work in synergy with the State Government to drive reforms that will further modernize the civil service and improve public service delivery.
Hajiya Ladidi Garko emphasized that these decisions highlight the ongoing commitment of the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to reposition the civil service as the engine room of governance and development, ensuring that the state workforce remains vibrant, motivated, and disciplined.
