The State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made this known at the closing ceremony of a two day Retreat organized by the Shari’a Commission held at Dutse, Jigawa State Capital in a statement issued by the Spokesperson of the Commission, Ibrahim Ado Sabari and made available to The tentaclesnews.com.ng
The Governor who was represented by Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Sheik Usamatu Salga described the retreat as timely and urged the participants to make the best use of what they learned during the retreat.
Sheik Usamatu Salga further stressed that the Shari’a Commission has a critical role to play in shaping and moulding the behavioral perspectives of the Muslims Ummah in the State in accordance with Islamic principles for a better and decent society.
The Special Adviser further advised Parents to always pray and monitor their children’s movements for a highly responsible Society.
Sheik Usamatu then saluted the State Governor for his total commitments in upholding the sociocultural values of the State and assured the Shari’a Commission of the Governor’s support to the Commission.
In his Speech, the Chairman of the Commission,Shiek Abbas Abubakar Daneji said the retreat was organized to boost the capacity of the Administrative Secretaries of Islamic Centers across the forty four local government areas of the State and to further enlightened them on their duties and responsibilities as representative of the Commission at local government levels.
Sheik Abbas Abubakar Daneji further pledged to work hand in hand with local government councils for the overall adherence to Islamic principles in all Muslims daily undertakings.
While delivering Speech,the Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Commissioner 11 of the Commission,Sheik Ali Dan Abba said the Commission would continue to partner with relevant stakeholders in undertakings its responsibilities especially compliance with Islamic principles among Muslim Ummah and further warned the Participants to be of high moral characters and as well report their activities to the commission on timely basis.
Sheik Ali Dan Abba similarly pointed out that the Commission would soon embark on tour to all the local government areas with a view to further cement the already existed working relations between the Local Government Council and the Administrative Secretaries of the Islamic Centers for better productivity
Shiek Ali Dan Abba then applauded the State Governor’s performances in advancing Kano State to a greater heights and called on the people of the State to rally round the present administration for the continue execution of meaningful projects across the state.
Compendium of papers were presented during the retreat by prominent resource persons which includes; Dr Bala Muhammad of Mass Communication Department, Bayero University,Kano.Professor Ahmad Murtala of Center for Qur’anic Science,Bayero University,Kano, Barrister Salisu Murtala Marmara, of the State Ministry of Justice and Umar Garba of the Department of ICT during the two day Retreat.
Special Prayers session was conducted for the success of the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf administration and for peaceful coexistence of the State and the nation at large led by the Commissioner 1 of the Commission,Sheik Gwani Hadu Tahir.
When interviewed on behalf of the participants, Chairman of the Forum of Islamic Centers Administrative Secretaries,Malam Abdullahi Adamu Aliyu and the Forum Secretary,Malam Nura Abubakar Ya’u expressed gratitude to the State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for sponsoring the retreat which they said is first of its kind in the history of the Commission.They promised to use what they learned during the retreat and assured both the State Governor and the Commission that they will redouble efforts in the discharge of their responsibilities
