A high-powered delegation from Kano State, led by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Wayya, has arrived in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, to participate in the National Conference of Local Government Information Officers, which was sponsored by the State Government
The conference which was scheduled to hold from 22nd to 26th September, 2025, at Green Mind Hotel, Utako, Abuja is expected to brainstorm and ctalyzies more avenues of knowledge sharing on the new techniques of Information dissemination in a global best Practice this was contained in a Press Released signed by Senior Information manager and Zonal Information Officer, Dambatta Zone, Tasi’u Jibo Dawanau and made available to our online medium the tentaclesnews.com.nga
The annual conference was organized by the Association of Local Government Information Officers of Nigeria (ALGION) which attracted Information administrators and Practitioners ranging from Commissioners for Information, Directors of Information, and Information Officers from the 774 Local Government Areas across the country.
The event was aimed at providing a platform for participants to brainstorm and share ideas on enhancing the proficiency,efficiency and effectiveness of information management at the grassroots level.
In his goodwill message to the Participants,the Council Chairman of Dambatta local government, Jamilu Abubakar Dambatta urged the Participants to use what they’re going to acquire during the three day symptoms on their daily engagements of Information dissemination at the grassroot level
Jamilu Abubakar expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his transparency in public administration in the State which he said would go along way in keeping the general public abreast on government programmes, Policies and projects across all the forty four local government Areas.

“Public Relations and Information Management at the Local Government Level: Challenges and Prospects.”
In recognition of its commitment to strengthening grassroots communication, the Kano State Government has been commended for fostering a cordial working relationship with information officers, as well as facilitating the induction of state information officers into the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to boost professionalism and service delivery.
As part of the highlights of the 2025 conference, Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, will be honoured with the Award of Excellence for Best Supportive Governor on Grassroots Information Development and Effective Governance.
In the same vein, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Wayya, the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, will receive the Excellence Award as the Pillar of Grassroots Information Development in Nigeria.
Other notable awardees at the event include Governor Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke of Osun State, who will be recognized as the Best Supportive Governor on Effective Grassroots Development and Corporate Governance, as well as other distinguished State Commissioners, pioneer civil servants, and Members of the Federal House of Representatives among others
