It has been identified that environmental sanitation is panacea to sustainable development and promote healthy environment.
The observations were made by the Council Chairmen of Kaugama and Malam Madori while inspecting monthly sanitation exercise in their respective areas
The Council Chairmen reiterated their commitments towards ensuring clean environment were they urged the people of the twin localities to always observe both personal and environmental hygiene for the development of the Areas in a statement issued by the Information Officer of the two Local Government Areas,Alhaji Musa Muhammad to the tentaclesnews.com.ng
In Kaugama , the Council Chairman, Usman masaki Dansule represented by Special Adviser on Water and Sanitation , Muhammad Garba , stated that the exercise involved clearing drainages , culverts, streets, market , Local Government Secretariat among others to improve cleaness of the environment.
He urged residents to actively participate in the monthly sanitation program emphasizing that the importance of community cannot be over emphasized
Whereas from Malam madori local government the Council Chairman Salisu Sani Garun-Gabas urged community members, Civil Societies , Community Development Associations to partner with the Council towards ensuring healthy society which is a pride to all.
The State Supervisor assigned to oversee the exercise in Malam madori,Muhammad Bin Shu’aib has advised the sanitation committee to ensure planning meeting has been conducted prior to the exercise and to report how the exercise was conducted to the appropriate authority.
He further urged the committee to ensure sensitive areas are fully considered during each exercise.
