NAF 2025: Nigerian Security Agencies engage in 10 km walking and jogging exercise

As mental and physical wellbeing have been identified as pivotal tools to improve combat readiness and success for the Nigerian Air Force and other Security Agencies with a view to be proactive in case of any challenges that may come up.

The Nigerian Air Force Base Service Kano, organizes the last quarter of the year 10 kilometers walk and jogging exercise for Air Officers Men and Women alongside Security Agencies in Kano on Saturday.

At the event Kano State Governor Eng Abba Kabir Yusuf, who was the Special Guest of Honor represented by Commissioner for internal security and Special duty, Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umar Rtd, said the exercise serve as the celebration of mutual understanding and the spirit of serving the nation.

He said Kano State government is committed to continue supporting the Nigerian Air Force and other Security Agencies in their mission to provide effective security coverage in Kano and the country in general.

‘The event is not just about physical exercise, but about building relationships, fostering unity and promoting a sense of community service”, he said.

The commandant of 455 Base Service Kano, Group Captain Mustapha Sulaiman said that the physical fitness remain a corner stone of military effectiveness, regular exercise also promote endurance, teamwork, disciplining and mental ability and all essential quality for operational readiness

He said that the walking and jugging exercise is beyond a routine exercise, is a symbolic commitment to maintain the highest health standards, morale boosters and performance to served the nation.

This year’s third quarter exercise was peculiar because of the invitation and participation of the Army, Navy, Police, Correctional service Immigration, Civil Defence Corp, NDLEA, Fire service, Custom Service, Air Force Primary School children’s and other security agencies to build synergy..

A.M Ogujem clinches victory in 10 kilometers jogging with a finishing time of 27.9 minutes, edging out E.O Chinemere who finished closely behind with 28.2 minutes and A.D Musa finished at the 3rd position with 29.1 minutes.

The women’s 10 km category saw fly officer A.O Okpora dominate with an impressive time of 49.50 minutes to securing first position.

Meanwhile at the men’s walking category S. Aliyu emerged the winner.

Ibrahim Adam Aliyu from Correctional service emerged winner from other security agencies that participated at the exercise.
