In a significant move to strengthen healthcare services delivery and protect the lives of children, the Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government Area, Dr. Mani Tsoho has led the official flag-off of the Integrated Measles Revella MR Vaccination Campaign held at the District Head Palace Sarkin Dawaki Mai Tuta, Alhaji Bello Abubakar Gwarzo.

While addressing the people at the event, Dr. Mani Tsoho—represented by the Vice Chairman, Abdulmumin Garba Lakwaya—expressed deep appreciation to the District,Village and Ward Heads for their support and vigilance towards ensuring the success of the campaign in a Press Released issued by Auwal Musa Yola Zonal Information Officer of the Area and made available to thetentaclesnews.com.ng

He reaffirmed that the Local Government is fully committed towards ensuring sustainable health for every child, emphasizing that no child will be left behind in the vaccination exercise.

The Chairman noted that vaccination remains the most effective and affordable method of preventing disease outbreaks.

Dr.Tsoho also revealed that the Local Government has mobilized Councillors and appointed officials across wards to ensure the full success of the campaign.

He commended the Kano State Primary Health Care Board (KSPHCB), development partners such as WHO and UNICEF, and the frontline health workers for their relentless efforts in delivering such vital public health intervention.

The Chairman further called on parents and caregivers to bring forward their eligible children for immunization, describing it as a responsibility and an act of devotion to community wellbeing.

In his remarks, the Head of Primary Health Care Services in the area, Alhaji Tukur Makama, explained the operational plan of the campaign across the entire Local Government.

He stated that vaccines and related medical supplies have already been received, targeting over 150,703 children for immunization. He appealed to parents to ensure that their children are fully vaccinated against measles and other life-threatening childhood diseases.

While delivering Address at the event, Sarkin Dawaki Mai Tuta of Gwarzo, Alhaji Bello Abubakar Gwarzo, expressed his delight with the Local Government Chairman’s commitment to healthcare and appreciated the Kano State Government for its continuous support in improving the health sector.

He assured that the District Head Palace will continue to provide full support and community mobilization for the success of the exercise.

The event was attended by health officials, community leaders, civil society organizations, and representatives from WHO and UNICEF, and commended Dr. Mani Tsoho for his dedication and consistent efforts toward improving healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.

The ceremony concluded with the symbolic administration of the measles vaccine to selected children at the venue, marking the official commencement of the campaign, which will continue across all 10 wards of Gwarzo Local Government Area to ensure that truly, no child is left behind.
