Kano State Government has reaffirmed its readiness and commitments towards ensuring the successful hosting of the Kalankuwa Festival, the maiden edition of the Kano Festival of Arts and Culture (KANFEST).
Comrade Gwarzo made this known during an inspection visit to the Kano Trade Fair Complex, the official venue for the festival, scheduled to hold from Saturday, October 25 to Monday, October 27, 2025 in a Press Released issued by the Information Officer in the Office of The Deputy Governor,Yusuf Abubakar Ibrahim sent to thetentaclesnews.com.ng
Gwarzo expressed optimism that the event would be peaceful, engaging, and reflective of the rich cultural heritage of the Kano people, noting that adequate arrangements have been put in place to guarantee the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of all participants and visitors throughout the festival period.
The Deputy Governor further reiterated the administration’s commitment towards reviving and promoting the cultural heritage,norms, and traditions that define the identity of Kano as a City and State
He added that the Kalankuwa Festival represents important milestone in the government’s broader efforts to promote unity, tourism, and economic growth through arts and cultural development.

Adding that the Kalankuwa Festival is expected to attract dignitaries, local artisans, cultural troupes, and exhibitors from across Nigeria and beyond.
The government calls on residents and visitors to participate actively and peacefully in the celebration, as it marks a new beginning in the preservation and promotion of Kano’s cultural heritage and identity..
