Kano State government had reiterated it’s support to align with national policies and strategies aimed at driving sustainable economic growth and strengthening public health advancement across the country.
The Deputy Governorof the State Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo made this known while attending the 151st meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.The meeting, which was chaired by the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, endorsed the Renewed Hope Development Plan (2026–2030), a strategic framework designed to position Nigeria on the path toward achieving a $1 trillion economy in a Press Release issued by Yusuf Abubakar Ibrahim, Chief Press Secretary in the Office of the Deputy Governor,Kano State
The Council also deliberated extensively on national efforts to eradicate the newly identified variant of poliovirus, with stakeholders emphasizing the need for coordinated actions at both federal and state levels to safeguard public health and consolidate the progress already recorded in polio eradication campaigns.Speaking shortly after the meeting, the Deputy Governor reassured of the unwavering support of the Kano State Government, under Abba Kabir Yusuf, for the successful implementation of the Renewed Hope Development Plan, as well as all national initiatives aimed at fostering economic transformation and public health security.He further stressed that Kano State remains committed to working closely with the Federal Government, development partners, and other relevant stakeholders to create opportunities for economic prosperity while also strengthening health interventions to protect the lives of citizens, particularly children.
