The Kano State government has vowed to ensure proficiency among among its special reporters (SR) and Senior special reporters (SSR) that working in various Mds and 44 local government areas in the state for better productivity and efficiency which is in tandem with State Government’s policy of keeping the general publics abreast on its daily engagements.The state commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Wayya stated this in Kano during the opening ceremony of a 4 days capacity building training for Senior Special Reporters SSR and Special Reporters SR under the state ministry in collaboration with International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) with the theme “updating basic communication skills for enhanced government communication”Comrade Wayya also stated that the SSR and SR are part of the key importance government agents that enlightened the general public on the activities of government in the state.He said there are almost 132 participants which comprises 71 SSR and 61 SR.Also speaking the director of the International institute of journalism IIJ Dr M Shehu commended the Kano State government for organizing the workshop which he described as a way to gathered quality and integrated information as well as spread it to the general public.The tentacles reported that some of the participants interviewed expressed their gratitude to the Kano State government for organizing the workshop and equipped them with necessary knowledge to ensure the smooth running of their primary responsibilities.The Participants where drawn from across all Ministries, Departments and Agencies and the workshop is expected to gingered them on their responsibilities of keeping the public fully informed on government policies, programs and projects across the State
